Our house- Wow, I can't say enough about our house. It is always on my mind whenever I am home, because it is all around me; and most of the time when I am not. The smell of the new carpet; the feeling of cold, hard tile under my feet; the absence of cinder on my walls; and mainly the openness. I love this house so much, it has been such a blessing for us. It seemed too good to be true at first and I was hesitant to soak it all in and relish in it because I was afraid things would go wrong. But we have been here for about 7 weeks now, and despite a spider problem in the backyard (which we exterminated), it's perfect, and it's for real.
Crawling- I guess this really should have been posted before the new house bit, because the first time Peter crawled was in our old apartment the day we were cleaning, May 31st. He is so unlike the girl's were. The girl's, especially Mary, used crawling just to supplement their play zone around me- always looking back to make sure I was still there and for reassurance. Not Peter. Peter learned how to crawl and it's like a 16 year old with a drivers license and a key. He's gone. I never know where he is, because as soon as I have him pinpointed he has moved again. Kind of like an electron. He is so busy, so adventurous, and oh so cute. That little boy has me so crazy for him, he is just the most adorable little boy I think that's ever crawled the earth.
Hanna's now a great big 4 year old- Hanna turned 4 on July, 11th. She had been waiting for this pretty much as soon as she turned 3. She's trying to catch up to Mary, but still hasn't realized Mary is keeping pace with her own Birthday. We had a really fun day (and 2 others- one with Dario's mom and the other with my family). We went to the celebration centre where the girls got to play on a softplay and slide on a big blowup slide. We also played miniature golf and shot some pellet guns.
She is an extraordinarily special child. Her imagination is as real to her as you and me. She never needs to be entertained. We have to fight for her to come and be around us because she always remains busy drawing pictures, or more recently, acting out stories and happenings in the life of her Care Bears. Care Bears are the number one thing in this house right now. It's a Care Bear extravaganza. DVD's, music, stuffed animals, balls, candy- and you know what- we love it. The Care Bears make them so happy, they can't leave anywhere without at least one tagging along (always with a "diaper"(aka washcloth) around Hanna's).
Two Teeth- Pete's got two teeth. The second was feeling left out and popped out 3 days following the first. Poor Peter, that was not a whole lot of fun for him but, of course, he survived, as he will with the next 18 to come- (sigh).
One week of torture to go- Yes, of course, I'm talking about school. Only one more week of this fiendish 4 week block. I now officially hate summer school. Four week classes in accounting, that sounds like a joke, and well, it should be- but I would not laugh if I heard it- just like I'm not laughing now. I can't wait for it to end. Which leads me to my next and final stop...
Yellowstone- We want to utilize part of my, sent from heaven, summer break to travel up to Yellowstone for a family vacation. I can't wait. It's going to be so nice to drive around in the van covered in crumbs for hours on end; strolling around with a crying, hot and tired baby; and getting into a swimsuit that doesn't look good on me (because frankly nothing could); because I won't have to worry about what school work I'm procrastinating- due to the fact that there won't be any. Yay! I love summer. This is what it's all about.
Awesome! I've missed you and our talks. I'm glad you guys are doing well. You house sounds amazing! And I can't believe how big your kids are getting. Leo just got his first tooth about a week ago. Yikes, I know it's early. And I know how you feel about summer school. Steve's in his last week of the 8 week session of two MAcc classes. Good luck with your fall classes. Let us know what class you're taking, b/c we might have those books, still. Oh, and have fun in Yellowstone! My favorite picture of Jake was taken at Yellowstone, 3 years ago. Have fun!! Miss ya!!
Hey Janette, its good to read your blog again! It was fun seeing your comment on mine! We are very excited for our baby coming in December. What did you want to tell me? Well, you sound great and your kids do too.
Yea! You finally updated your blog! Can I tell you how much I've missed you!?!? I've tried to call you but I can't get you! Savanna moped around for a few weeks after Mary and Hanna left. She still talks about them. We're moving on Saturday to Danny's mom's house. Yes, ouch. Call me!!! I miss yer guts!!! 7-6494
